14 Ways to Calm Down When Life is Crazy

Jim and Amanda had a great discussion with a lot of folks on how to stay relaxed and centered in the midst of #StayHome. Here are some ideas from you and your friends!

  1. Getting into nature is a big theme, whether it’s finding a nearby natural body of water, hiking trails, or communing with horses, dogs or other pets. 
  2. We like funny movies and tv shows! 
  3. Reading takes us away to other places and gets us off a screen where we might get distracted by alerts, emails, or other things on line. 
  4. Getting crafty! How about Adult coloring books, scrapbooking, sewing or anything else creative. 
  5. Music therapy: Whether we are listening to it, playing it, writing it, dancing to it or even cataloging it!  
  6. Meditation, Tapping, Prayer and deep breathing are all wonderful ways to help us relax! 
  7. Happy Hour: Our favorite happy hour beverages seem to be Titos, Makers, Miller lite, Mint tea.  
  8. Bubbles! Blowing bubbles with the kiddos or soaking in a bubble bath! 
  9. DIY and home improvement! We are spending a lot of time at home, it should feel and look good!
  10. Looking at and organizing old photos and videos. It’s one of those activities we always say we will do someday when I have some spare time! 
  11. Gratitude: Feeling thankful and blessed for what we do have and focusing on the good things.
  12. Exercise! Yoga, Dancing, Hiking, Running,  Walking anything that gets our lungs pumping and our muscles burning!
  13. Fellowship (safely)  Playing all kinds of games or having conversations, happy hour or even Dance hours using Google Hangouts, Zoom, Facetime, Facebook, Tik Tok.
  14. And when all else fails!  Eat bad food, drink too much, and have a nice rage cry
