What's Going On??!!!

Wow!! I can honestly say, I was dumbfounded on Idol last night when they announced Kris Allen's name!! Danny Gokey was my favorite throughout the competition...but, Kris was really growing on me. His confidence, and even his VOICE seemed to get better over the weeks! But, I think it was how "humble" he appeared to be, that eventually got him the title. Simon Cowell predicted weeks ago that Adam Lambert would wear the crown...and usually I find myself agreeing with Simon. But, I think he missed this one  for reasons only a true "American" could understand. In this country, we tend to favor the underdog, and have this uncanny ability to support and rally around them. Adam had the pizazz, the chops, the swagger, the talent...period. But, it's like Kris rose from out of nowhere...and gained our respect..and ultimately, our votes. Simon criticized Kris for his lack of confidence early on...but, I truly believe THAT may have helped him in the long run. It's like we saw a bird get it's wings...who went on to soar. So, as GOOD as Adam was/is....and I honestly thought they would call his name last night, right up to the end...in retrospect,  I can see how Kris pulled through! We are playing his recording of "No Boundaries" on WARM98...and it is a hundred times better than the live version he performed on the show this week. Hope you can catch it! Til next season........congrats Kris!!

It's gotta be spring time in Cincinnati when they open the gates of Kings Island!! And they couldn't have picked a better weather day to invite the media out to test ride "Diamondback" the brand new 230 ft. high, 80mph fast, steel coaster that opens to the public tomorrow (saturday 4/18)!! I love roller coasters...so I expected big things out of Diamondback...and yes, it delivered! What makes it different? It's the smoothest ride I've ever encountered on a coaster....and the drops just keep comin' at ya...just when you expect to level out! The oddest sensation is the car you ride in itself. It kind of looks like those modified shopping carts for kids at the grocery store. You lock in low on your waist...with nowhere to put your arms but down in front of you near your knees. I think that is a big part of the nervous sensation...as your whole upper body is flying loose in the wind! And wow...is it FAST! It's a great companion to the other coasters at Kings Island. But, in my opinion....nothing will EVER compare to the Beast...which by the way turns 30 this week! Take in Diamondback and the Beast this weekend to celebrate the anniversary..and it will be a ride to remember!

Bobbi's Bio

Bobbi Maxwell is another of the "home-grown" members of the WARM 98 Airstaff. Having grown up in the West Chester area, she attended the Lakota School district, where she made the early decision to get into the broadcasting field after seeing an "easy credit" opportunity by taking the high school's Radio Broadcasting I course. Little did she know the microphone would become her bread and butter as well as music her passion.

Bobbi also briefly attended Miami University/Middletown, but not long enough to become a full-fledged Redhawks fan... her closet is instead filled with UC Bearcats logos...after being a long-time season ticket holder, even through the lean years!

She is also a single mom of two daughters, Dana and Hannah, and resides on the east side of town.

Bobbi's time away from the station is usually spent with her girls, her extended family of eight brothers and sisters, or with her yellow lab puppy, Marley and cat, Lucky !

Bobbi also loves to read, garden, go to yard sales, concerts and movies, as well as travel and of course, listen to music!
